THE FARM

FLORASYLVA is a small-scale flower farm located in Somerset County, New Jersey born from the dream of cultivating speciality cut flowers while coexisting with the surrounding environment.

FLORASYLVA practices no-till, sustainable farming methods, providing customers with chemical-free, seasonal flowers from April - October. We specialize in tulips, ranunculus, anemones, lisianthus, dahlias and mixed bouquets.

In 2018, Kinga Erdelyi, mother of two young daughters, simply wanted to learn how to grow dahlias and roses with the intention of selling from her home. Needless to say, this was only the beginning. After graduating from Floret’s Flower Farming Workshop in 2019, Kinga launched FLORASYLVA in 2020. Kinga studied color theory at New York School of Interior Design and worked as Visual Designer and Stylist for brands such as Anthropologie, Free People, J. Crew, and Nordstrom, Kinga brings this creative skillset into her floral design work.

THE FARMER

Kinga’s passion for growing flowers is rooted in childhood memories of her parent’s love of gardening in her home country of Hungary. Her parents didn’t own land so they borrowed space to grow veggies. Her mother has a love of all plants and perennials, passed down her parents. Kinga found joy in visiting her grandparents and harvesting peaches, raspberries, sour cherries and lots of gooseberries. Plants bring people together. Kinga loves sharing all the beauty and happiness of her blooms with you.

Troubled by the fast flower market’s implications on our environment, Kinga established FLORASYLVA with the mission to offer gorgeous, seasonal, sustainably grown slow flowers. Kinga produces beautiful blooms while being conscious of the impact her choices have on the environment.
